If you are new to Tottenham Hale

Come along to the Engine Room for a cuppa. As you can see from our Events page we offer lots of courses, classes and social gatherings you might enjoy. Feel free to bring friends or family members along. You can also help us and develop your skills by volunteering. Everyone is welcome at the Engine Room. We can connect you with other groups and agencies we work closely with such as Newlon Housing, Hale Village management, Living Under One Sun, Wellborn Children Centre and The Wellsite.

If you are a young person

We have lots of fun and challenging activities for local young people to get involved in. Term time activities include: Art Workshops on Monday from 4:30pm – 6pm at the Engine Room (for 6 – 11 year olds), Kids Music Club on Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm at the Engine room and Pop-up café every Thursday from 3.30pm to 5pm at Arnadale Green, Ferry lane. Have a look at our photos to see for yourself what young people get up to at the Engine Room.

If you are a family

We hope you might join our family soon! We love learning about each other’s cultures and experiences. We hope you might get involved with some of our activities: Supporting parents and children: Every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm we offer Messy Play and on Wednesdays from 9:30am to 11am we offer Stay and Play enabling pre-school children to learn through play, whilst parents catch up over a coffee. Both of these activities take place at the Engine Room,  Eagle Hieghts, Lebus street. And, if you like to cook with fresh vegetables you might be glad to know that Crop Drop is available from the Engine Room. Crop Drop offers a weekly drop-off point for organic, locally produced vegetables. Contact them here to find out more.

If you are a student

As a British or international student living in the Hale Village you would be very welcome at the Engine Room. We hope you will join in on some of the community activities, come along to meet local people and to have some fun. We would love to help you feel at home in the Hale Village. We often partner with other charities and community organisations to host interesting events for local people. For example, last year we partnered with  ‘Platform’ a small charity that combines art, activism, education and research to bring about positive change. ‘The Bus’ by artist Sokari Douglas Camp, was situated on Hale Village. • Volunteer to be part of the team that welcomes youngsters who get so much from the interaction with the young people of Tottenham Hale.
  • If you enjoy Art can you support our Art workshops? – Drop by at the Engine Room to let us know you are interested and we can put you in touch with the leader of this activity.
  • What else is missing in our community? - Come and chat to us with your ideas and let’s see if we can make them fly. We are always keen to develope new ideas and events for our community.  Could you volunteer? What could you do?
